HMRC Crackdown Continues on Tax Cheats

HMRC have recently decided to address the massive amount of trade that takes place on sites such as Ebay and Amazon, targeting those people who sell more than a few items on there, and checking to make sure the profits are declared for tax purposes.

To assist them in their task they are now using web robot software to catch individuals and businesses who are trading illegally.

Following on from this in the summer HMRC intend to target traders who are operating above the current VAT registration limit of £73,000 and who have not registered for VAT. It is thought that the trading sites investigation will also help to catch individuals and businesses that are currently breaking VAT laws.
